Faculty Academy of Graduate Student Well-Being

UC Davis' Office of Graduate Studies has announced the inaugural cohort for the Faculty Academy of Graduate Student Well-Being

This program is designed to train faculty to teach graduate student seminars on mental health and well-being. Faculty selected for the Academy will learn relevant scholarship on mental health and develop facilitation skills to lead conversations and seminars on well-being. In return, during the 2021-2022 academic year, they will facilitate a graduate-level seminar within their departments to help graduate students enhance their well-being and professional success.

The inaugural cohort includes PREP@UCD trainers Elva Diaz (Pharmacology), Bruce Draper (Molecular and Cell Biology), and Angelique Louie (Biomedical Engineering). All have served as advisors and/or mentors to PREP@UCD scholars.

Under the leadership of Dean Jean-Pierre Delplanque and Dr. Elizabeth Sturdy, Grad Studies' Director of Mentoring and Academic Success Initiatives, UC Davis spent spring and summer of 2021 developing mentoring programs that now are being launched. For more information about the Academy and these offerings, please see the Grad Studies mentoring web page. You also can subscribe to the mentoring updates email list.
