Meet Dr. Brandy Weathers, PREP@UC Davis alumna from the 2020-2021 cohort.

Brandy just completed a PhD from the Molecular and Computational Biology program at USC under the direction of Sean Curran. She studied host-pathogen interactions, signal transduction, and immune response in C. elegans.

Brandy will soon move her locus of research across town to UCLA as a postdoc. She will study host-pathogen interactions to identify metabolites and biomarkers in humans who receive a kidney or liver transplant, with the ultimate goal of increasing the understanding of factors that affect mortality and survival.
