Join the UC Davis Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute and PREP@UC Davis for a virtual viewing and panel discussion of Picture a Scientist.

From the website: Picture a Scientist chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we encounter scientific luminaries - including social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists - who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.

Advance registration required: to receive a link to view the film, please register before Wednesday, April 7th, 9am PDT. Registrants will receive a link to view the movie up to 72 hours ahead of the panel discussion. Registrants after April 7th may attend the panel discussion, but will not receive a viewing link for the movie.
