Anna La Torre Vila, a faculty member in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy, recently was recognized by UC Davis Graduate Studies for excellence in graduate mentoring and advising. Anna was recognized for her service to graduate programs, commitment to advising and mentoring, and positive impact on graduate students and colleagues. 

This award is one of many Graduate Studies initiatives dedicated to showcasing and promoting positive advising and mentoring experiences within graduate education at UC Davis. 

In addition to her work with graduate students, Anna mentored PREP alum Yesica Mercado-Ayon, regularly speaks with PREP scholars in professional development workshops, and has served on the PREP@UCD admissions committee.
